The Pacific Coast League-leading Oklahoma City Dodgers took an early lead and held on for a 5-4 win against the Iowa Cubs Friday at Principal Park.

The Dodgers built a 5-0 advantage before Iowa collected four unanswered runs to cut Oklahoma City's lead to one in the eighth inning. Oklahoma City hung on to win a third straight game to improve to 17-5 on the season.

In his Triple-A debut, shortstop Corey Seager finished 2-for-5 and connected on a RBI single in his first at-bat of the night to put Oklahoma City on the scoreboard first.

The Dodgers took a 2-0 lead in their series with the I-Cubs as they won for the eighth time in the last 10 games.

Oklahoma City built a 2-0 advantage in the first inning in front of a crowd of 5,147.

Darnell Sweeney led off the game with a double for Oklahoma City, then scored on a RBI groundout by Buck Britton.

With two outs later in the inning, Seager connected on a RBI single up the middle to give Oklahoma City a 2-0 lead. Seager entered 2015 ranked as the organization's top prospect by Baseball America and MLB.com, and he was named the Dodgers' 2014 Branch Rickey Co-Minor League Player of the Year.

The Dodgers added a run in the second inning. Darwin Barney grounded into a force out and Austin Barnes scored on the play to take a 3-0 lead.

Oklahoma City added two more runs in the fifth inning. Britton led off with a single. He stole second base and advanced to third on an Iowa error. Britton then stole home on a double steal.

Kyle Jensen drove in another Dodgers' run with one out for a 5-0 advantage.

Iowa (9-12) responded with a three-run bottom of the frame.

Adron Chambers and Rubi Silva hit back-to-back singles. A sacrifice bunt by Hunter Cervenka advanced both runners and Arismendy Alcantra tripled to drive in the I-Cubs' first two runs of the night.

Alcantra later scored on a balk by pitcher Joe Wieland to cut Oklahoma City's lead to 5-3.

In the eighth inning, Iowa's Matt Szczur homered to left field to cut the Dodgers' lead to 5-4.

Wieland improved to 3-0 with the win for Oklahoma City, allowing three runs and five hits over 5.0 innings. Josh Ravin retired all four Iowa batters he faced, including a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth inning, for his second save of the season.

Iowa pitcher Dallas Beeler (0-1) was charged with the loss.

The Dodgers continue their four-game road series against the Iowa Cubs at 7:08 p.m. Saturday at Principal Park.
