An early morning earthquake shook awake many residents in central Oklahoma.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday. Its epicenter was located seven miles south of Guthrie and eight miles north, northeast of Edmond.

It was about three miles deep.

Many residents in the Oklahoma City metro area reported feeling this earthquake. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.

Another 3.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 10:06 a.m. Its epicenter was located seven miles south, southwest of Perry, and 17 miles west, northwest of Stillwater. It was about three miles deep.
