3.9 Magnitude Quake Rumbles Along Oklahoma, Kansas Border

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded near the town of Manchester, Okla., near the Oklahoma-Kansas state line, Tuesday afternoon.

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded near the town of Manchester, Okla., near the Oklahoma-Kansas state line, Tuesday afternoon.

The earthquake struck at approximately 5:18 p.m. 12 miles south southeast of Anthony, Kan. or about 107 miles north northwest of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of just over four miles.

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake was also recorded near the town of Perry, Okla. just before 4 p.m.

No damage or injuries have been reported with this earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes of 4.0 and higher.
