Stillwater police are looking for two suspects in connection to a shooting that injured one person at an apartment Sunday night.

According to police, at about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the Stillwater Medical Center (SMC) Emergency Department after receiving a report that a gunshot victim was seeking treatment. The victim arrived at SMC by private vehicle.

As officers were en-route to SMC, the Stillwater PD Central Communications Unit received a 911 call from a unit at the Logwood Apartments, 716 N. Husband. The caller reported gunshots coming from the apartment several minutes earlier.

Investigating officers learned these two incidents were related.

During the initial investigation, officers learned that two male suspects entered the apartment where the victim and a juvenile witness were staying. Both suspects were armed with guns. Police said the juvenile was forced to the floor while the victim was taken into a bedroom.

According to police, an altercation ensued in the bedroom between the victim and one of the suspects. During the altercation, the victim was shot in the head by the suspect.

Two suspects were seen running from the apartment where the shooting occurred immediately after the shots were fired. Police said the two left the area driving a maroon or burgundy sedan.

The gunshot victim is a 21-year-old man. Police said the juvenile witness drove the victim to the hospital. The victim's injuries were not life threatening. He was treated and released.

During the investigation, detectives determined at least two shots were fired. Two bullets penetrated the floor of the victim's apartment as well as a bedroom ceiling of the downstairs apartment immediately below the victim's apartment. It was these gunshots that prompted the call to 911.

The lower apartment was occupied by a family at the time of the shooting. No one in that downstairs apartment was injured, according to police.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Stillwater Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit (405)-372-4171.
