The rain is almost here after a downright gorgeous day Saturday.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Sunday ahead of our next storm system. High temperatures will be a bit cooler than Saturday with most of the state in the 60s and 70s. Winds will be breezy from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph.

Showers and storms will develop first in southwestern Oklahoma Sunday afternoon between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Any storms that develop could become severe with a large hail and damaging wind threats. The tornado threat is low, but not zero.

The rain and storms will spread north as the evening and night progress and the rain could be heavy at times. The severe threat will drop as we head into Monday morning and we'll transition to mainly a heavy rain event. Some flooding will be possible.

Rainfall totals could range from one to three inches with more possible in western Oklahoma.

The forecast turns warm and dry starting on Wednesday and lasting through next weekend!
