We're getting a look at some incredible video from inside a Mid-Del school bus as it sped recklessly down Southeast 15th.

The driver, Odis Pitts, crashed into a bridge Monday, but not before mangling at least five other vehicles along the way.

Police said Pitts was clearly under the influence while driving that school bus.

The school district released surveillance video from inside the bus Wednesday. It's amazing that he not only made it out alive, but didn't kill anyone along the way.

For nearly an hour, a surveillance camera on board the Mid-Del school bus showed the 57-year-old in the driver's seat.

Pitts flew by another school bus in the left hand lane, then moments later some sort of impact.

Seconds later, at least two more!

At this point, Pitts was clearly slumped over. You immediately sense something was seriously wrong.

But amazingly, the bus continued for several minutes and it appeared Pitts was out of it.

You can hear him moaning as the bus barreled down Southeast 15th destroying cars and flipping a Chevrolet pickup along the way.

Then, there's another loud impact.

This time, Pitts was nearly knocked out of the driver's seat, but he held on and kept going.

Pitts hit cars left and right.

Completely slumped over, he finally goes up an embankment crashing into a railroad bridge and coming to a rest at Southeast 15th and South Santa Fe Avenue.

Moments later, someone rushed to the bus driver's aide.

"You alight? You alight buddy," said a passerby. "He's not responding."

Police did find the drug K-2, a form of synthetic marijuana in Pitts' pocket.

He's still in jail and is being held without bond.

Mid-Del Schools said it has fired Pitts, but this isn't the first time Mid-Del has let him go.

News 9 obtained a termination letter from May 2012 when Pitts was fired for unspecified reasons.

News 9 was told he was rehired in 2013.
