Caught on camera, a Moore Police Officer dragged nearly half a block by a suspect during a traffic stop.

A police dash cam recorded it all. It happened at 1:45 a.m. last Monday, on the 800 block of Southwest 4th Street.

Police said Joseph Brand, 41, rolled through a stop sign. Even though there was a felony drug possession arrest warrant for him in Oklahoma County, he insisted the Moore Police Officer let him go.

Police Spokesman Jeremy Lewis said Officer Jerrod Queen showed tremendous restraint by calmly explaining to Brand why he had to arrest him and take Brand in. But Brand tried to speed away, dragging Officer Queen nearly 200 feet, before Queen got the felony suspect and his car under control.

“He could have done what we call a felony traffic stop,” said Lewis, Wednesday afternoon. “And pulled his weapon and ordered the guy out of the vehicle. He was you know trying to be polite to the guy even though he had a felony warrant.”

Police said Brand was carrying 47 grams of pot.

On April 13, a judge denied him bail. He still sits in the Cleveland County Jail.
