Firefighters were called out to battle a blaze at a business on the northwest side of the metro, Sunday evening.
Crews were called out to the Michaels arts and crafts store located in the 5000 block of N. May Ave. just after 5 p.m. Firefighters were able to get a handle on the fire before 5:30 p.m.
Investigators say the cause was due to an electrical short on the outside of the building. Firefighters estimate the fire caused about $30,000 worth of damage to the business,
A cake decorating class was taking place inside the business when the fire broke out, but everyone was able to make it outside safely. No firefighters were injured.
