USGS: 3.5 Magnitude Earthquakes Shakes Near Oklahoma Border

An earthquake was recorded near Caldwell, Kansas Saturday afternoon.

The 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 1:34 p.m.

Its epicenter was located eight miles south southwest of Caldwell, 33 miles west northwest of Ponca City, Ok., and 38 miles north northeast of Enid at a depth of over a mile.

No injuries or damages associated with the quake have been reported.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
