Harrah Woman Blames Neighbor For Shooting Dog

A dog is shot with a shot gun and its owners think they know who's responsible.

The 3-year-old Husky-Heeler mix's x-ray showed the damage.

The owners of Boon said he was shot because he was on their neighbor's property.

Jordan Thornton said they've had issues with this neighbor before, but this is the first time one of their dogs has been shot.

The x-ray showed a buck shot spread throughout Boon's body.

“I heard the gunshot, and I went out to check on the dogs, and I couldn't find him. We looked all day, looked in the woods, and couldn't find him,” said Boon's owner, Jordan Thornton.

Jordan said around 10:00 that night her dog walked up through the woods.

“He come walking up the driveway, and we notice him limping, and noticed the blood spot on him, and took him inside and started shaving and counting all the spots,” said Thornton.

There are dozens of entry wounds on Boon's body.

Jordan works at a veterinarian clinic in Choctaw and said she knew immediately her dog had been shot.

“I mean, there's no reason to shoot him, I mean, what if my son was outside, he could have hit him too,” said Thornton.

Jordan thinks a neighbor up the road is responsible, and said they've had problems in the past as recently as a couple of months ago.

“He was shooting at our house in the middle of the night, just shooting at our house,” said Thornton.

Jordan said fortunately no one was hurt.

We talked to the accused neighbor. He didn't want to go on camera, but admitted they've had issues with Jordan's dogs in the past, but he denied shooting Boon.

Jordan said they have filed a report with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

So far, there are no arrests or charges in this case.
