Parents near two Moore elementary schools are on high alert after students said a man tried following them.

The district is now warning anyone who walks to and from school.

The two Sky Ranch Elementary students were walking to school Wednesday morning, but said something felt different.

A man, they didn't know, started walking toward them and began picking up the pace.

The stranger frightened the kids, so they took off running to the school.

“Once they got to the playground of sky ranch elementary school they turned around and saw the gentleman looking at them then turned around and started walking away,” Dustin Horstkoetter, Director of Safety and Security for Moore Public Schools.

The children ran inside and explained what had happened to their principal. Following exactly what they were taught about "stranger danger."

To warn and alert all parents the school sent home a letter Wednesday afternoon, detailing what took place and a description of the man: white male, 5'10', wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket.

“They did the right thing. Whatever they saw yesterday made them uncomfortable enough that they reacted appropriately,” said Horstkoetter.

Horstkoetter, said Wednesday's incident comes on the heels of one just five days ago in the same area, which has neighborhood parents worried.

“Yeah it's very scary. I mean her, she's very friendly very social and you know she hasn't met a stranger,” said neighborhood father Robert Walker.

Walker lives just feet from where the kids saw the man on Winston Way. He said the recent incidents will have him keeping his social butterfly a little closer to home.

“As a parent it's very worrying,” said Walker.

Despite two similar incidents happening in this area, Moors Public Schools don't believe the two are related.
