A small earthquake shook near the town of Alva, Okla., in Woods County, on Thursday.

The 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck at approximately 10:49 a.m. 19 miles south southwest of Alva, or about 104 miles northwest of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of just under seven miles.

No damage or injuries have been reported with this earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at magnitudes of 4.0 and higher.
