It was badly decomposed, making it difficult to determine gender or race, OSBI said.

However, OSBI found several pieces of jewelry with the body. One picture is of a navel ring and the other is what appeared to be a wedding ring set found on the person's right hand, according to investigators.

OSBI said the individual wore purple ankle socks with a skull and crossbones pattern.

If anyone knows someone who has not been seen for at least several weeks and owned matching items, you're urged to call the OSBI hotline at (800) 522-8017.

The medical examiner is still working to determine a cause and manner of death.
