Your 2 Cents: Construction Tour Of New White Water Course

The Oklahoma City white water rapids course, which will open a year from now, is going to be even better than I expected. I took a walking tour of the construction last week.

Here's what you had to say about it.

Phyllis first: "So excited for this addition to our city and all it will bring for the residents as well as increased tourism dollars for OKC!"

From Deborah: "Our Metro area is transforming to be a place to be! MAPS is a success."

But Shawn says: “It may not be if they are taking water out of a lake somewhere while in the middle of a drought."

Wendi writes: "It's a waste of water and money.."

Heard from several people like that, many from western Oklahoma were concerned about the water to fill the white water course, even though it comes from Draper Lake and ultimately southeast Oklahoma, where the reservoirs are full.

Still, Justin says:"It will be an awesome skatepark when there is no more water to fill it."

Morgan responds: "I'm pretty sure it's going to be recycled treated water like a water park, so don't throw shade unless you're also crusading to close every pool and water park in the state"

Sharen won't hear it: "I'm all for fun and bringing business to Oklahoma BUT using precious water just for fun! NOT! We need to be paying attention."

Finally, Chris says: "Too bad so many people are negative when so much good is coming about in OKC..."
