Earthquakes Rumble Around Oklahoma

A 3.3 magnitude quake struck at approximately 7:39 a.m. 10 miles north northeast of the town of Crescent, Okla., or about 43 miles north of the OKC metro, at a depth of three miles.

Two small earthquakes were recorded in Logan and Woodward Counties Monday morning.

The first, a 3.3 magnitude quake, struck at approximately 7:39 a.m. 10 miles north northeast of the town of Crescent, Okla., or about 43 miles north of the OKC metro, at a depth of three miles.

Then around 9:10 a.m., a 3.4 magnitude earthquake shook 11 miles north northeast of Mooreland, Okla. in Woodward County.

No damage or injuries have been reported with either earthquake.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes of 4.0 and higher.
