OKC Man Robbed And Shot During His Morning Walk

An Oklahoma City man was shot Friday morning while walking in a southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood.

Police were called to a reported shooting in the area of SW 31st and Virginia around 7 a.m. Friday.

Police said a man was walking along Virginia Avenue between SW 30 and 31 when another male approached him and tried to rob him. During the confrontation, the man was shot in shoulder by the robber.

The 911 caller told police she heard a gunshot and went outside to see a man with a gunshot wound on the ground. She did not see the attacker.

The man shot has been identified as Raul Marquez, 67, is in critical condition.

Police do not have a suspect description at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
