CBS Sports: Sooners Preseason No. 7

After a run to the Sweet 16, expectations will be high for the Sooners next season.

One day after Duke defeated Wisconsin to win the National Championship, many publications have released their picks for next season's Top 25.

Included in that is CBS Sports, in which writer Gary Parrish picked the Sooners as the preseason No. 7 team in his Ridiculously Early Preseason Top 25.

Parrish notes that OU will return five of its top eight players; six if junior Buddy Hield decides to pass on the NBA Draft.

If the Sooners are indeed ranked in the top 10 when the official preseason poll comes out later this year, it would be their highest preseason mark since the 2002-03 season. That season ended in an Elite-8 loss to Syracuse.

CBS projects the ACC on top again with Virginia at No. 1 and UNC at No. 2. Those two are followed by Kentucky at No. 3, Maryland at No. 4, followed by a Big-12 trio with No. 5 Kansas, No. 6 Iowa State and then the Sooners.
