Police Catch Dewey Co. Inmate Who Escaped In A Stolen Truck

Authorities in Dewey County said the search has ended for an escaped inmate. Officials said Dustin Ray Mapes stole a white Chevrolet pickup with Oklahoma County tags reading: 228 769.

Authorities suspected he would be on his way to Binger to pick up his girlfriend, Courtney East, who was staying with his brother, Chad Mapes.

Monday evening, Binger Police Department officials picked up the inmate and also arrested his girlfriend for aiding in his escape.

The stolen vehicle was district property.
