4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In Logan Co.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake near Crescent, Oklahoma Friday evening.

The 4.0 magnitude quake shook the area 12 miles north of Crescent and 19 miles north, northwest of Guthrie at 7:49 p.m., according to the USGS.

The earthquake was nearly two miles deep.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
