Her store was destroyed by the Murrah Building bombing then burned down twice. Now, she's the victim of looters. The Stockyards City business owner continues to bounce back from each of these setbacks.
Yolanda White Antelope's new open sign has yet to be illuminated. For the past month she's worked hard to rebuild her store destroyed on March 5 in a four-alarm fire.
“I've been here from morning till dawn. I'm just trying to get it all back together again,” said Oklahoma Native Art and Jewelry owner Yolanda White Antelope.
But just as she tried to rebuild her new store, looters scavenged through her charred store around the corner stealing anything that's salvageable.
“There's not a lot that we can salvage that is extremely valuable, but it's valuable to me,” she said.
Yolanda said the looters broke in through the back garage , but now anyone who tries it again will be caught on camera
It was actually Yolanda herself and friend's detective work that helped police catch one of the suspects, 51-year-old Michael Tucker.
“I called the police and they went to the house and they arrested the gentleman that was in there because they found jewelry on him,” said Yolanda.
Rebuilding her store for now the fourth time, Yolanda said she continues to find strength to do it again.
“I surprise myself yes. But you know I'm strong and I will do it again,” she said.
Yolanda plans to have her new shop open by mid-May.
