Two Rescued From Water At Lake Thunderbird

Emergency crews rescued two people from the water at Lake Thunderbird Friday afternoon.

Two people were rescued from the water at Lake Thunderbird Friday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at about 2:30 p.m., crews responded to the incident in the 13000 block of Marina Road.

OHP said the boat began to take on water from oncoming waves and eventually capsized. The operator and passenger were able to float by hanging on to the boat's fuel container. The operator was able to swim to shore and the passenger was picked up by a boat passing by, OHP said.

Troopers said they are both accounted for were treated medically.
