An earthquake shook up residents in Helena, Okla., in Alfalfa County Thursday night.

The 3.5 magnitude quake struck at approximately 9:16 p.m.

Its epicenter was located just seven miles southeast of Helena, 17 miles west northwest of Enid, and 58 miles northwest of Guthrie at a depth of over two miles.

No injuries or damages associated with the earthquake have been reported.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
