Heavy winds and rain early Wednesday damaged an Oklahoma City apartment complex, leaving several tenants wondering where they will be spending the next few nights.

The ceilings of a handful of units in the Meridian Village Apartments partially collapsed during the night. While no injuries were reported, many tenants are concerned.

Meridian Village Management wouldn't talk to News 9 Wednesday afternoon, but one tenant—who didn't want to be identified—said she heard management would work with them in finding new temporary shelter.

“They are saying they are going to try to fix the roof, but the roof is so damaged it may take a while,” she said.

Oklahoma City's Action Center advises all renters communicate with their landlords. They also said folks should buy renters insurance, which can cost anywhere from 100 to 200 dollars a year.

They said those without that insurance can call the Red Cross and Salvation Army for help.
