The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake near Medford.

The 3.0 magnitude quake shook the area 16 miles west of Medford and 27 miles north, northwest of Enid at 10:42 p.m.

The earthquake was nearly four miles deep.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
