The Red Cross is spreading the word about its Resource Center in Moore to help tornado victims.

Families are coming in for all types of needs like food, clothing and transportation.

The Red Cross is set up inside the Moore Community Center at 301 S. Howard with all sorts of resources for March 25th storm victims.

Nancy Coffey is looking for some direction after the tornado.

“I was just trying to get resources, I don't know where to go next,” Coffey said.

Coffey is one of several Moore residents who have turned to the Red Cross resource center for help.

“This morning is the first day I actually broke down and I think you're running on adrenaline and so today was the first day this it really, really hit me this morning,” Coffey explained.

She lives near Southgate Elementary and the tornado gutted the second story of her home.

“The power went out, I looked upstairs and watched my roof lift off and said to my son, ‘It's time to get in the hall,'” Coffey told News 9.

Now she and her children are displaced with a growing list of needs. The resource center can help with all of them.

“It could be anything from just mental health support, it could be needing clothing, food, perhaps you need some minor rebuilds taking place where we can refer to other agencies,” said Ken Garcia with the Red Cross.

Red Cross assessment teams went to every single Moore home and documented the damage.

When residents come in for help, volunteers pull their damage assessment file and assign resources based on that.

”If you're not sure, the best thing to do is just come down and ask and see what's here,” Garcia added.

Red Cross is working more than 30 cases, which is the equivalent of more than 80 people.

Coffey said she feels better about tomorrow.

“I'm leaving here with resources of who to talk to, where I can go and peace of mind,” said Coffey as she left the resource center.

The Resource Center is open again Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moore Community Center.
