Students and faculty members were evacuated at an Oklahoma City elementary school, as officials investigate a strong odor Friday morning.

According to a spokesperson with the Oklahoma City Public Schools District, teachers and students at Sequoyah Elementary School, located at 2400 N.W. 36th, were asked to wait outside Friday morning, after several teachers reported smelling a strong odor inside the school.

So far, officials said the district's department of safety and security workers have not found a gas leak in the building. They are also checking the rooftop units, according to the spokesperson.

The students and teachers are allowed to go back into the building.
