Oklahoma State Operations Center Activated, Roads Closed

Due to severe weather conditions across Oklahoma, the State Emergency Operations Center was activated, Wednesday evening.

Due to severe weather conditions across Oklahoma, the State Emergency Operations Center was activated, Wednesday evening.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is in contact with emergency managers across the state and coordinating with numerous agencies and organizations including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, National Weather Service, American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Also, a traffic accident has caused I-35 southbound lanes at fourth street in Moore to shutdown. 

Traffic is being diverted to the service road and back onto the interstate at the Fourth Street on-ramp. The closure is expected to extend late into Wednesday evening. Northbound I-35 is narrowed to one lane at Fourth Street.
