Oklahoma City police said a missing child has been found safe Wednesday morning at his grandmother's home.

According to police, 6-year-old Johnny Pettis went missing at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday near Hefner and N. Western.

Pettis is 4 feet tall and weighs around 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a school-type uniform with tan pants, white and blue short-sleeve shirt along with blue and white shoes.

Wednesday morning, a family member said she saw News 9's coverage and called us to report that the child was at his grandmother's home. News 9 gave that information to police.

At about 7 a.m. Wednesday, officers said they went to Pettis' grandmother's home, and confirmed that the child was found safe there.

An officer told News 9's Rachel Calderon that it was a miscommunication between family members. The grandmother had picked the child up Tuesday night from the apartment complex and brought him to her house.
