Tulsa Public Schools are looking to close for the day next Monday, count it as a snow day, so that teachers, parents, and students can come to the capitol and lobby for salary increases and more money for classrooms.

Here's what you had to say about it.

Wade first: "Sure why not. But make it an unpaid day off. They are paid to teach school not lobby like their unions do."

But Reg says: "Absolutely not. How about do the lobbying on a Saturday. The kids suffer in the name of greed. How is that fair.? Or how about lobby during the 3 months they have off?"

Legislators aren't there on Saturday or during the summer, when teachers are off work so are they.

Luanna says: "Good for the teachers for thinking outside the box."

On a proposal to make teachers exempt from paying state income tax Carey writes: "So you would allow teachers to pay no tax's, while asking Oklahoma Veterans and retired military that served on this nations battle fields to pay tax's ? This State has lost its mind."

Ann adds: "when you go into the Teaching Profession you already know you will not get rich. You do it for the love of teaching."

And finally, Claud writes: "I think teachers deserve any help they can get. They deserve it."
