A Tulsa man was killed and his son injured, when they fell from a bluff while on a camping trip in Arkansas on Friday. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the two fell off a bluff at White Rock Mountain.

Shane Trotter, 35, and his 8-year-old son were camping in the Ozark National Forest with a group from Tulsa when they fell off the bluff near a gazebo on the mountain, according to KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith.

Sheriff Anthony Boen said the pair fell about 60 feet, KFSM reports.

Emergency responders were notified of the father and son falling off the bluff at about 9 p.m. March 20. Deputies were able to get to the base of a 100-ft. rock face, but found Trotter dead, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

The boy was airlifted to a Little Rock Hospital in critical condition.

A fund has been set up to help the family with expenses. Donations can be made to the PayPal account: ShaneTrotterMemorialFund@gmail.com or go to the Shane Trotter Memorial Fund Facebook page.
