Authorities said they are searching for a suspect who reportedly stabbed a 67-year-old man multiple times, beat him with a bottle and then stabbed him with the broken bottle. Stillwater police said the motive appeared to have been robbery.
Police said on March 14 just before 8 p.m., officers found the victim in the area of 1800 S. Fern Street. Emergency crews flew the man to an Oklahoma City hospital. As of Monday afternoon, authorities said the man was still hospitalized and listed in good condition.
Witnesses told police the suspect in the assault was a young, black male in his 20's. Police said the suspect left the scene as a passenger in a dark gray car with four doors. Police said the vehicle was “possibly a Dodge Charger.” It was headed south to 19th Street in Stillwater after the assault. The driver of the car was also described as a young, black male. But police said the extent of the driver's involvement in the possible robbery was not immediately known.
Authorities urged anyone with information about the case to call the Stillwater Police Department at (405) 372-4171.
