Oklahoma City police arrested two men who are accused of stealing jewelry from the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial fence Saturday night.
According to police, at about 7:40 p.m., a witness called officers to report that two people were stealing items from the memorial fence. Officers arrived and spoke with the witness, who said he has been following the suspects near N.W. 6th and Hudson.
Officers located the two, later identified as 22-year-old Wyatt Levi Rowell and 19-year-old Nathan Alexander Baucom, on Hudson near N.W. 8th Street. Officers said they asked the two if they had been at the memorial, and they said they had walked by it. But the suspects denied anything had happened while they were there.
However, officers said they saw a necklace with an ice skate on it around Rowell's neck. They also found another silver necklace with the word “Believe” on it, as well as several other items, in the suspects' possession.
Both Rowell and Baucom were taken into custody on larceny complaints.
