Victim In SW OKC Shooting Wanted For Murder In Texas

Thursday night, officers were surprised to discover this is the same man wanted for murder in San Antonio. Someone investigators there had been looking for since December.

Oklahoma City Police said Paul Marigny and his cousin Wayne Taylor spent most of their Thursday drinking. But sometime during their afternoon, the two began arguing about their dirty house on SW 40th Street.

“That escalated into one of them getting a gun and shooting the other one,” MSgt Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police.

A woman, who didn't want to show her face on camera, said Marigny was working on her truck Thursday afternoon.

The shooting allegedly took place minutes after she went back to pick up the truck.

“So I get there, he tells me take me around the corner so I can cool off. And I was like what's going on? Nothing, nothing, nothing!” she said.

While she drove Marginy around the block, Taylor took off to a convenience store around the corner to call for help.

“Next thing I know all I see is the helicopter is following us. I didn't get past the stop sign before we got pulled over,” she said.

Police arrested Marigny for the shooting.

It was at the hospital where officers learned the victim was hiding a past of his own.

Turns out, Taylor is wanted for a murder in San Antonio from December 30th.

He'd been on the run ever since and was believed to be on his way to Atlanta.

“That in of itself is a bit unusual for the victim to have a warrant along those lines,” said MSgt. Knight.

Bexar County Sheriff's Deputies said once Taylor is physically able he'll be extradited back to Texas, and will face his first degree murder charge.
