A large fire ripped through a warehouse just west of downtown Oklahoma City, early Friday morning.

It happened at about 2 a.m. on N.W.3rd near Douglas Avenue. When firefighters pulled up, they found a large warehouse on fire with heavy flames and smoke shooting up from the roof.

Evidence from inside the building may prove the fire was set by someone who was inside, according to fire officials.

The building used to belong to an old steel company but now it's vacant. However, they did find several mattresses inside, so they think there may have been transients using it as shelter.

There's also no electricity going into the building. So they do think this is suspicious and was likely set by someone. Their goal now is to find out how the fire started and whether or not it was accidental or intentional.

When we last spoke with firefighters, they said they were also attempting to locate the owners of the building.
