OKLAHOMA CITY -

Tecumseh police said someone who may be connected to a deadly shooting Thursday in Southwest Oklahoma City, walked into their police station Thursday tonight.

The assistant police chief said detectives with Oklahoma City police are responding.

One suspect underwent surgery at OU Medical Center Thursday, as police continued their search for the other suspect.

“They were my friends,” Myka Scott said. “Oh, my god.”

Emergency crews worked fast to load up two people. One lived in the home located in the 3400 block of SW 22nd and Woodward Avenue. The other person transported by EMSA was one of two suspects who tried to barge their way inside the home.

“Originally it was a home invasion where two male suspects came to the location and actually knocked on the door then forced their way in,” Oklahoma City Police Captain Paco Balderrama said. “There was a struggle inside the home. There were shots fired inside the home.”

Neighbors said they heard several shots, and when they looked outside a man was lying in the street.

“There were more than two people inside the home, but there were two victims who were actually engaged in the fight when these men tried to force their way in,” Balderrama said.

One of the people inside the home was shot and another was pistol whipped. It was that person who police said shot at one of the suspects as they took off outside.

“One of the victims from inside the house was shot and did expire at the hospital,” Balderrama said. “The suspect who was shot in the middle of the street is in critical condition.”

Friends of the victims said a man lived at the home with his three children and his brother. It is not known if the family knew the suspects or why they showed up there in the first place.

“It's terrible,” Scott said.

Police are looking for a white male who left in a white vehicle. If you have any information concerning this crime contact the police.
