A jury started deliberating Thursday morning in the trial of a man who was killed after being hit in the head with a baseball bat during a brawl at an Oklahoma City ballpark last April.

Just after 4 p.m., the jury found Eric Noyola guilty of second degree murder in the death of Ricky Betancur.

Eric Noyola was on trial facing a murder one charge for killing Ricky Betancur. The jury was composed of six men and six women.

During closing arguments, the Assistant District Attorney trying the case told the jury old rivalries end in very bad ways, and that Eric Noyola wanted the victim, Ricky Betancur, dead.

The Assistant DA stated this bat attack was nothing short of cold-blooded murder.

Eric Noyola's attorney argued that Noyola did not start the fight and only hit Betancur one time, and that he did not intend to kill him. He stated had Noyola intended to kill Betancur, he would have hit him multiple times.

During the verdict, the jury recommended that Noyola face 10 years in prison.

Eric Noyola's scheduled to be sentenced formally by a judge on April 15th.
