AUSTIN, Texas -

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night with a 59-42 loss to Texas in front of 2,957 fans inside Erwin Events Center.

With the loss, OSU fell to 18-9 overall and 8-8 in Big 12 play. The Longhorns moved to 19-8 and 8-8.

Both teams struggled to get on track early at the offensive end, combining to hit just seven of their first 32 field-goal attempts. For the half, OSU shot 28 percent en route to its worst shooting night of the season, finishing at just 28.6 percent from the field.

Junior Brittney Martin kept the Cowgirls within striking distance, scoring OSU's first 10 points before finishing the half with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Cowgirls used a 7-0 run to grab a 21-18 lead before Texas answered with six of the final eight points before the break to move back in front, 24-23.

Texas got five consecutive points from Kelsey Lang to extend the Longhorn lead to five at 31-26. OSU answered with a 5-0 run of its own to knot the score at 31 apiece before Texas scored the game's next seven points and stretched the lead to double figures at 45-35 with 8:14 to go on a 3-pointer from Krystle Henderson.

Martin recorded her third double-double in OSU's last four games, finishing with 23 points and 16 rebounds.

Empress Davenport led Texas with 15 points.

OSU will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Texas Tech for a 7 p.m. contest.
