Enjoy Saturday. It'll likely be the warmest over the next week and a half.

Saturday will be dry with highs primarily in the 50s. A northeast wind and partly cloudy skies will keep things feeling cool outside.

Saturday night, light winter precipitation will begin in the panhandle and northwest Oklahoma. It could start as a rain/snow mix before changing over to all snow. News 9's Meteorologist Matt Mahler wouldn't expect much mix.

During the day Sunday, the best snow chances will be in northwest and western Oklahoma. Most snow looks light. Only light accumulations expected. What's worse is how cold it will be. Highs in the 20s and 30s. Northeast winds at 30 mph. Wind chills ranging from 5 to 25 degrees. Ick.

Heading into Monday, a second round of snow is expected. Best chances right now line up in western and southern Oklahoma. Chances are good for OKC. Expect a little more accumulation with this round, one to three inches will be possible. If banding sets up, we could see totals locally higher.

Anticipate the Monday morning drive, much like last week, to be very cold and potentially slick and hazardous.

This forecast is trickier in terms of amounts and location, not necessarily precipitation type. Expect mainly snow for the state with some sleet mixed in far southern Oklahoma on Monday.

The bigger concern is where we'll see the most snow. We'll be watching it closely!

And don't look now, but a second potential winter storm may be setting up for late next week into next weekend. This one is already showing more teeth, but is far from locked in. Stay tuned to KWTV - NEWS 9.
