Tulsa police say a man has head injuries after wrecking his SUV during an armed robbery. It happened around 3 a.m. near Garrison and 54th Street North.

Sergeant Brian Blair said a young man was dropping a couple of girls off at a home when a robber armed with a long gun jumped in the Buick.

The girls jumped out, and the driver took off, going a short distance before hitting a car parked on the neighborhood street and crashing into someone's yard.

"He was just panicked, because he had a guy in the car with a gun, robbing him," Blair said.

The robber took the victim's cash and left.

The young man who was robbed had a head injury and was treated by EMSA. He's expected to be OK.
