A crash critically hurt a man and woman suspected of trying to break into a car Wednesday afternoon, according to Broken Arrow Police.

Police say the man and woman were trying to break into a vehicle at the Boulder Ridge Apartments in Tulsa when the vehicle's owner confronted them. The vehicle's owner told police the two suspects got into an SUV and sped off.

As the SUV headed south on 145th East Avenue, it suddenly veered into the northbound lane, according to police. The SUV rolled over at least once and struck a silver sedan that was heading north.

Police say the crash threw the man and woman out of the SUV and left them with critical injuries. They say the person driving the silver sedan wasn't badly hurt.

Police have not released the identity of the two suspects.

Broken Arrow Police say neither police nor the vehicle owner was chasing the SUV at the time of the crash.
