A man who Oklahoma City police initially thought killed another man in self-defense is accused of murder, authorities said. Arrest warrants were issued for him and a second suspect.

On Jan. 16 outside the Four Seasons convenience store at 63rd Street and Santa Fe Avenue, 21-year-old Braylen Brown shot and killed Quantrell Lawrence.

Brown told police he shot in self-defense because he said Lawrence was trying to rob him. However, court documents showed Brown shot and killed Lawrence while they both sat in Brown's pickup truck. An arrest warrant showed that during the investigation police found a large quantity of marijuana in plastic bags in a nearby dumpster. Those bags, police said, had Brown's fingerprints on them.

An arrest warrant was also issued for 20-year-old Lakeiia Moore, who police said was an accomplice.
