The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake near the Oklahoma/Kansas border Saturday evening.

The 3.1 magnitude quake shook the area seven miles south of Caldwell, Kansas and 33 miles of west, northwest of Ponca City at 10:03 p.m., according to the USGS.

The earthquake was more than three miles deep.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
