Orange Juice: Cowboys Surge Past No. 8 Jayhawks

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Le'Bryan Nash scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half as Oklahoma State stormed from behind for a 67-62 upset of No. 8 Kansas on Saturday in Stillwater.

As the final seconds of Saturday's shocker ticked off of the clock, the OSU students flooded the floor while chants of “O-S-U” rang out through Gallagher-Iba Arena.

But it wasn't this happy all day. Kansas dominated the first 20 minutes.

Wayne Selden Jr. began the second half with a free throw to give Kansas a 52-40 lead. It was KU's largest lead of the day and it looked like yet another Big 12 walk in the park for the Jayhawks.

Orange you glad you didn't turn it off?

Oklahoma State immediately answered with a 14-0 run to seize control. OSU increased its lead to 59-52 with a little more than seven minutes to play on a Nash jumper. Kansas fought back, but four straight Nash free throws kept the Jayhawks at bay.

KU got the ball wiith a chance to tie with 20 seconds left, but Brannen Greene missed a short shot and Anthony Hickey leaked out for a game-sealing layup at the other end.

Hickey finished with 15 points, his third-highest scoring output this season. Phil Forte, who spent much of Friday in the Stillwater Medical Center suffering from an illness, gutted it out and finished with 13 points and three steals. Jeff Newberry added 10 points, five boards and three steals.

Selden Jr. led KU with 15 points while Perry Ellis added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kansas (19-4, 8-2) lost despite shooting 10-of-20 from the 3-point line and holding OSU to just 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) from deep.  The Jayhawks' 18 turnovers had a lot to do with that.

OSU (16-7, 6-5) earned its fourth conference win over a ranked opponent. The Pokes are back in action on Monday night at Baylor.
