4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Near Cherokee
CHEROKEE, Oklahoma - A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Cherokee, Oklahoma, Thursday morning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 9:08 a.m. Its epicenter was located five miles east, northeast of Cherokee, and 35 miles northwest of Enid.
It was about three miles deep.
Many News 9 viewers in the area reported feeling this earthquake.
Earlier on Thursday, just after 1 a.m., a 3.8 magnitude earthquake rattled residents near Helena, Oklahoma.
No injuries or damage were reported in either of these earthquakes.
