Firefighters Extinguish Multiple Fires In OKC Metro Overnight

Firefighters battled multiple fires in the Oklahoma City metro area overnight.

Firefighters battled multiple fires in the Oklahoma City metro area overnight.

Firefighters knocked down an outbuilding fire behind a home on S.E. 32nd near Byers. This happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported in this one.

Just after 1 a.m., crews responded to a house fire on S.W. 25th near Portland. We're told everyone inside made it out safely except for one of two family dogs. The other dog was treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters say the fire broke out when one of the dogs knocked over a space heater.

Also overnight, firefighters were busy extinguishing flames at the Wedgewood Village Apartments near N.W. 63rd and the Northwest Expressway. Several people were evacuated. No word on any injuries. The cause is being investigated.

A home on S.E. 16th Street near Byers was heavily damaged following a fire Monday night. Authorities said a family of six made it out safely.

The cause has yet to be determined.
