A New York City man is riding his bicycle across America. And it's not for one cause, it's for twenty.

36-year-old Courtney Bibb is an East Coast I.T. Expert, who said his mother and grandmother always told him it's important to give back.

He said he peddled out of New York City back in October. He plans to peddle his bike through 20 American cities before he ends his journey in Los Angeles in March.

That's about around 6,000 miles folks.

Bibb is stopping in each of the 20 cities he picked. He stayed a week or so in each city.

During that time he worked for charities he said he has researched on the internet.

This week he has helped Anna Geary at Calm Waters Center for Children and Families in Oklahoma City.

“It's come at a really good time for us,” she said Wednesday.

Bibb's already passed through places like Philadelphia, Morgantown, West Virginia, Columbus, Ohio, St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri, and Wichita, KS.

He said between stops, he peddled his bike about 40 miles a day.

He said he's been traveling secondary and state roads, and has relied on google maps to point the way. He stayed in hotels when he could. And, he's pitched a tent on a few occasions.

“Only physical issue I've had to deal with is just cold feet and cold fingers,” he said. “It's allowed me to break barriers, and allowed my character and my actions do the talking, and not be judged by anything but that.”

To lighten his load, Bibb has clothes mailed to a post office in each city when he gets into town.

Bibb pays for this highly unique trip out of his own pocket, although while in Oklahoma City, Schlegal Bicycles insisted on tuning up his bike for him.

“It's about the charities,” he said. “ It's about me wanting to give back in the best way I can, as well as learn about my country from a completely different perspective,” said Bibb.

If you would like to follow Courtney's progress, you can easily find him on Facebook. He also has a gofundme.com account, but said any money raised there goes directly into the 20 charities he picked.
