OKLAHOMA CITY -

State investigators raided an alleged pill mill.

Agents with the Attorney General's Office and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control confiscated a number of items from Aria Orthopedics, 8603 S. Western.

Agents seized computer hard drives, boxes of patient records, and contracts from the office during the all-day search.

Patients were surprised to be turned away from the offices when they arrived for their scheduled appointments.

"[I] just came in every month and did my thing and didn't suspect anything...they were real professional but you just never know," Carol McKinley, a patient said during the raid.

The attorney general began investigating Dr. Harvey Jenkins, owner of Aria Orthopedics in 2012.

"The business practices of Dr. Jenkins are questionable," Attorney General Scott Pruitt said there is evidence to show Jenkins was using his role as a physician to operate a 'pill mill.'

His practice has been called into question before by the state Medical Licensure Board.

According to disciplinary records, in 2011, Jenkins was given three years of probation for unprofessional conduct related to his use of oxycodone.

In January 2015, he was given two years of probation, again for unprofessional conduct, but this time related to his business, BodyTrends. The board found Jenkins failed to establish proper physician-patient relationships prior to prescribing treatments and failed to maintain accurate patient records.

The investigation into his practices at Aria Orthopedics is ongoing.
