CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Cleveland County Sheriff's Office detectives recently arrested a Noble, Oklahoma, man on multiple warrants that totaled $300,000.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff's office, Jimmy Delayne Atherton, 25, was charged on January 16 in the Cleveland County District Court with two counts of each grand larceny, false declaration of ownership in pawn and pattern of criminal offenses.

Detectives arrested Atherton the same day. He is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center on $60,000 bond.

According to the Sheriff's office, Atherton is accused of stealing a go cart and double-axle trailer from separate owners and then trying to pawn both items in December, 2014. When investigators asked Atherton about the allegations, he confessed to the crimes.

Atherton also admitted to committing nine more thefts in Cleveland, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties, according to the Sheriff's office. Investigators are working with other agencies to confirm those crimes.

Investigators said they believe Atherton is responsible for more thefts in the Noble and Slaughterville areas. The investigation is on-going.

Sheriff Joe Lester said detectives have done a great job with the investigation and continue to follow leads each day.

“Investigators have done a terrific job gathering evidence and finding the person responsible for these multiple crimes,” Lester said. “I hope the suspect has learned it doesn't pay to commit any crime in Cleveland County.”
