Norman police said they are investigating a drive-by shooting that left one of the intended targets injured.

Police said it happened around noon Monday as two men walked along the 100 block of E. Mosier Street. Police said a dark-colored four-door sedan pulled up with two suspects inside. Police said those men fired at the two men who had been walking on E. Mosier Street.

None of the bullets hit their intended targets, but one of those men was injured while running away.

Grady Smith and his wife Paula have lived next to where this happened for the past 25 years. Grady said if this kind of trouble ever finds its way to his house, he'll be ready. “Like I told that policeman, and he agreed with me. Yeah 357 works faster than 911 if you're in a real bind,” he said.

Paula Smith said the suspect vehicle was an earlier model dark-colored Chevy Impala, with dark tinted windows.
