The Sentinel Police Chief Louis Ross has yet to speak with OSBI investigators.

He told News 9 his version of how Thursday morning played out.

Chief Ross said Washita County 911 received two calls from a man who identified himself as Dallas Horton, and claimed to have a bomb inside the head start school.

During the second call, the caller said the bomb was in the refrigerator and would go off at 8 a.m.

Chief Ross told News 9 he called for county back up before entering Horton's home.

Up to this point, Horton claimed he never knew any officers were in his home.

“Don't know what he heard or didn't hear screaming from five officers of the law announcing our presence, requesting to see hands,” said Chief Ross.

“He thought he was protecting his home and his wife. He didn't know what was going on until the door was busted down. And you have a right to protect your family and that's what he was doing,” said a family member of the Horton's.

Chief Ross told News 9 the investigation is still ongoing he doesn't want to comment on Horton's release Thursday afternoon by OSBI investigators. But he said he has faith in the system.

Friday afternoon an OSBI computer analyst determined calls to 911 did not come from Horton's home.
